“If you know how to make good use of the mud, you can grow beautiful lotuses.”
-Thich Nhat Hanh
In this video, we discuss embracing the “mud” of our shadows – those parts of ourselves that society has conditioned us to be ashamed of. But most of these “shameful” aspects of ourselves are simply unproductive coping mechanisms we developed to protect ourselves from emotional wounds we didn’t know how to process when they occurred.
When we take an honest, compassionate, heart-centered look at our shameful shadows, then we can begin to process and integrate our unresolved wounds and start to break out of our unhealthy patterns.
